Meet the Doctor

I injured my neck playing basketball as a senior at Manteca High School.  I ran into another player giving myself a bad case of whiplash.  The next day my neck was in such pain and spasm, I couldn't even lift my head off my pillow.  My mom took me to see Dr. Gary Lowe, a chiropractor in Manteca.  Dr. Lowe took X-rays, examined me and then adjusted my neck where I heard a popping sound.  I instantly regained about half the movement in my neck.  Within a few more visits my range of motion had completely returned and my pain was almost compeletly gone. 

After that experience I went to San Diego State to study sports medicine as a Kinesiology major with a Pre-Physical Therapy emphasis.  I then attended Palmer College of Chiropractic West, in San Jose, to get my four year Doctor of Chiropractic degree.  As part of Palmers clinical internship program I was awarded an internship with Dr. Mark Eastland D.C., the Chiropractor for the San Francisco Forty Niners.  With Dr. Eastland I got to apply my talents in a very unique environment.  Dr. Eastland owns a private practice that employees both chiropractors and physical therapists under the same roof and in the same training room.  My background in both physical therapy and chiropractic proved a perfect fit.  However, after a six months I soon realized that San Jose was not where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. 

I was very fortunate again when I found an oppurtunity to work closer to home and in the wonderful community of Elk Grove. I couldn't imagine a better place to go to work everyday then California Family Fitness.

Dr. Chris Bartkowski has been a licensed Chiropractor since December 2005.
